Pinnacle Foods Helps Superstorm Sandy Victims With Donations

PARSIPPANY, N.J. (Nov. 12, 2012) -- With its headquarters in the region affected by Superstorm Sandy, Pinnacle Foods Group LLC is helping its neighbors in need. The company has donated nearly 20,000 meals of Hungry-Man® Chili, 14,000 meals of Mrs. Paul’s® ParchmentBake Tilapia Filets, and 5,000 meals of frozen Celeste® Flatbread to the Community Food Bank of New Jersey to help feed families displaced by Superstorm Sandy. Pinnacle Foods will also match all employee donations to area food banks serving those affected by Sandy, and the company is matching volunteer time for employees who choose to give their own time to aid organizations in relief and rebuilding areas affected by the storm.

“Superstorm Sandy has devastated much of the East Coast and it has been an extremely trying time for those hit hard in New Jersey and New York,” said David Socolow, VP of Corporate Affairs for Pinnacle Foods. “Many of our own employees were affected and we want those coping with the aftermath to know that we’re here to help. Pinnacle Foods is donating food, money and time, and we hope that our partnership with Feeding America’s network of food banks will help those who most need assistance in the coming months.”

While there is still much rebuilding to do, Feeding America believes that the support of its partners will help the process tremendously. “We are extremely grateful to Pinnacle Foods for providing both meals and volunteers to help those left with little in the wake of the storm,” said Karen Hanner, Director of Manufacturing Partnerships for Feeding America. “It is tremendous to see the generosity of our partners in support the victims of Superstorm Sandy.”
